COMPANY ORIGINS
Founded in 1983 in Nova Scotia, Canada, AKSO MARINE BIOTECH INC. owns one of Canada’s largest sea cucumber processing plants. Our R&D team is innovative and creative, we collaborate with the National Research Council Canada to unlock the nutritional potential of northern natural resources, and we’re always seeking the next breakthrough.

Under the NOVA SEA ATLANTIC® brand, we develop unique natural health supplements. Our products use raw materials harvested exclusively from the pristine North Atlantic, offering potent nutrients that enhance modern vitality.
MILESTONES
Founding & Early Development (1983–2015)
1983:
Established in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
2015:
Expanded the factory in Hackett’s Cove, NS, Canada.
Innovation & Recognition (2019–2022)
2019:
NRC-proven immune-boosting effect in animals.
2020:
NOVA SEA ATLANTIC® Sea Cucumber Capsules won the 27th Canadian Grand Prix Award.
2021:
Awarded the Nova Scotia Minister’s Award of Excellence for Innovation and Export Contribution.
Won the Industry Innovation Prize.
2022:
Secured over CAD 2,000,000 in funding support.
Collaborated with Ocean Supercluster to develop a novel Atlantic sea cucumber formula with health and wellness potential.
Global Expansion & Advanced Research (2023–Present)
2023:
Launched NOVA SEA ATLANTIC® Seal Oil for Kids.
Entered large chain store City’Super in Hong Kong.
2024:
NOVA SEA ATLANTIC® products became available at Sobeys, PharmaChoice, Pharmasave, and other major retailers in Canada.
Filed patents in Canada, China, and the USA for extracting omega-3 from sea cucumbers.
Continued research on hydrogel extracts from sea cucumbers.
